Deshbhakta Ratnappa Kumbhar College of Commerce, Kolhapur started in 1957, reflects
the vision of its founders who are leading Industrialist, Professional and Educationalist
with local base and global vision. The college was started in Kolhapur renowned
for its Small Scale Industries and the agricultural product market. It has now developed
in to the premier single faculty college in the university imparting Commerce and
Management education to the student not only from these areas but also from all
over the country and abroad.
Besides the college started a separate department for management studies in the
year 1971 which was the first of its kind in the Shivaji University. We believe
in excellence and value addition through devotion and Student Involvement, Group
Discussion, Management Games, Seminars, Industrial Visits, Guest Lectures by eminent
professionals. Besides we started BBA Department in 2006 which helps to develop
skills of students and encourage them to seek and acquire knowledge.
Our College has a separate Placement Cell. All students will be provided with
Placement assistance, Counseling for employment and Self Entrepreneurship. The placement
cell conducts On-Campus and Off-Campus Placement and employability enhancement activities.
It provides employment avenues to students. The Placement Cell organizes various
activities viz. Guest Lectures, Workshops, which helps the students to develop the
personality and enable them to stand with global competitive environment.
